Every bride and groom planning a wedding in 2020 faced an extremely tough, unexpected decision. To scale down their nuptials, reschedule the date for an undetermined time, or continue on as planned amidst the uncertainty of COVID-19.
Wisconsin couple, Katie and Reid were no exception. After postponing their wedding once, they anxiously waiting for the world’s heath to improve. Eventually, they made the difficult choice to postpone their wedding for a second time. It was understandably one of the most painful decisions they’ve ever had to make. But it was crucial that they celebrate their marriage with the friends and family that have given so much support to their relationship over the years. In order to do so comfortably, safely, and sans face masks, their big day is postponed until September of 2021.
If there’s anything I’ve learned about my engaged couples in 2020 it’s that they’re extremely resilient. Point blank, they were all faced with an unfortunate situation. But they are all taking it in stride, and truly making the most out it. Katie and Reid decided on an intimate 2020 wedding with only the bridal party and immediate family, with their larger reception to follow next year. And hey, two weddings isn’t so bad. Twice the dancing, twice the love, and of course, twice the desserts.
Katie and Reid’s wedding was nothing short of breathtaking. Even with the compromised nuptials, their rustic theme was on point. Their reception tables were each customized with a photograph and beautiful floral arrangements. The color scheme, royal blue and mulberry, was displayed beautifully on each member of the party. And Katie looked absolutely beautiful in her elegant two-piece princess gown.
Pizza from Thirsty Duck and those delicious breadsticks that we all love from Olive Garden rounded out the menu for her intimate guest count.
