#covidinfluenced. I would say its intimate and simplistic
We had the day all planned out how we wanted and everyone was on board. When COVID hit, tensions rose as we navigated what we still wanted, how to make it happen and most importantly, when. It turned wedding planning from fun to an unhappy topic which I never expected. The hardest part was recreating the ceremony for a group of 15. I never wanted a small wedding with just family and that was hard. Moving the reception twice was surprisingly easy – all of the vendors were so supportive and flexible.
At this point, no. We have a re-do with the smaller ceremony this year and reception next year so are getting to tweak the things I wasn’t 100% sure of. Stay tuned as I’m sure things will pop up between now and 2021.
Make the big decisions right away and then take a few months off to enjoy being engaged and not let yourself get consumed by all of the things you need to do. Make sure you are speaking up and putting your foot down on things that are important to you…remember it is your day even though lots of family and friends are excited for it.
Looking at venues for Summer 2020 while not engaged. At one venue, the coordinator asked Sam if he was the lucky groom. He smiled and said yes while I glared…waiting for the proposal to come.
I’ll stick with this one even though COVID has made more memories. Gotta keep it light somehow 🙂
