Q: How would you describe your photography style?
A: I aim to capture your wedding day in the most realistic and beautiful way possible.I do this through a blend of candid and posed photos. I very much enjoy natural light and those candid shots of grandma on the dance floor.
Q: I see that you are located in Chicago. Do you travel?
A: The answer is always- yes! I will travel near and far for my couples. A travel fee does apply if I am traveling anything over 30 miles from Chicago, IL.
Q: I see that you shoot a lot of candids. Do you also take formal photos of wedding party and family?
A: Most definitely! I understand that posed pictures are just as important on a wedding day. Mom and Grandma need something to frame and put on their wall, right? I will work with you to create a family portrait list that covers all the bases. On the wedding day I am a pro- people wrangler. Not a family photo will be missed under my watch!
Q: How long until I receive my photos from my wedding/photo session?
A: Every photo that you receive is individually edited, so a little time is required. Weddings are delivered within 4 – 6 weeks (I know this is broad, but it varies with the season). Portrait/Engagement sessions are generally 2 weeks.
Q: How will I receive my photos after the event?
A: You will be given the link to an online photo gallery for viewing, sharing and downloading! And from there, you are free to share and print as you wish! Just make sure to mention who your amazing photographer was ;).
Q: Do we get all the photos that you take?
A: Yes! The only photos that I intentionally leave out will be those with eye blinks, duplicates, unflattering photos, etc., this ensures that you can receive all the best images!
Q: Can we see a full wedding gallery?
A: Absolutely! Just ask when you inquire and I would be happy to share a few with you. I may even have shot a wedding at the venue you are getting married at!
Q: How many photos do we get?
A: 500-1000. I never put a limit on the amount of photos that you have. The amount of photos is most dependent on the hours of coverage, number of photographers, and how much action is taking place on your big day!
Q: Do you work with another photographer?
A: Yes and I love doing so! A second photographer is helpful for many reasons, which I can explain more in depth if you are interested. I have a number of photographers that I trust and hire to work alongside me in the case that you would like to have two photographers capture your wedding day.
Q: What if something happens to your camera? Will you have back-up equipment?
A: I definitely come prepared for any situation so that you have no worries about your day being captured! I will always come with two cameras (if not three!), multiple lenses, batteries, and memory cards. There will be no lack in the equipment department over here!
Q: Can I upload our photos to Facebook when I receive the gallery?
A: Yes please, I would love that! Just make sure to give credit in the photo captions or in the album description when you upload. And please- No Cropping or IG filters! That hurts my soul.
Q: Gavyn! We would like to book you for our wedding! How do we go about it?
A: To begin, check with me to make sure your date is open by filling out the contact form! We can grab some coffee if you’d like and chat about all the details. If you are not local, email or phone call is just as good. In order to officially book the date, I will then send you a contract that will need to be signed, and sent back to me with your deposit.
More questions? Just ask!
